She lives around the Monroe/Charlotte NC area, but she has family in Atlanta, Georgia so she could really be anywhere.

Most folks thought I was older than I am because of how I act. Although I look like a 14-yr old at times and get carded TWICE at clubs. lol.
Someone on Tumblr guessed that I was 36!

I had to call on the power of every ancestor I have when I talked to my daughter about her xenophobia, prejudiced views and ethnocentrism. ALL THE POWER!!!
She’s ignorant, ya’ll. Not “stupid”, not by a long shot. She is, after all, my child.
But she just doesn’t know anything. Her experiences…
She sure will be just fine. All of us had way more limited views and...
LOVED answering the questions you all had last...
I hope I provided good info for you. Feel free to ask me more, if you have any. Holler at the ASK box.
veronicastorm asked: Thanks for answering my questions :). You are right, the correct topic would be African v African American.

veronicastorm asked: As a Nigerian woman, why do you think there is such a gap in relationships between Nigerian women and African American women? I have had great friendships with Nigerian women but I don't know if that is because I was around, respect and understand Nigerian culture early on.And I notice around me, well in Texas, that's not so common....

There is very much a traditionalism there too that involves a man ASKING his potential wife’s family for her hand in marriage. We even have an engagement ceremony where Yoruba men will prostrate (lay on ground in front of) for his bride’s family members. A way of showing respect and to pretty much tell her family that he’ll love and protect her. And to show he’s worthy of...

notesonascandal asked: I'd like to know how dating/courtship go in your culture. I've always wondered about that. Is it as fck'd up as Black Americans are right now? If not, I'd like to find a nice Nigerian gentleman to date on a long term basis.

Grew up speaking 2 languages equally
And I’m blessed for it. There has never been a time I can remember where I didn’t speak both Yoruba and English equally. I’ve been blessed for that because by being bilingual, I do have a better ear for languages and tones than some folks who speak just one (science says so). And even by experience, I can hear variances in tones that my peers often can’t.
With that being...
